Micro:bit Fun!

This week in the Artt2372 class on Tuesday we were working on the computers. The materials used were the barrel jack, four double-A batteries, yellow geared motors, and a bridge. Dr. Justice lead us in class, the first thing we went to was the website Microsoft MakeCode, second step was to insert the microbit into the micro USB, the third step was to have the micro:bit on Microsoft. With this software, you are able to make animations such as name tags, hearts, and etc. Micro:bit and Microsoft allows you to change the animation with a click of the A or B button on the bridge. What comes next? We dive deeper into coding and understanding the use of electronic devices that can be used for a whole lot more than texting or playing games. This type of learning will let us get closer to being hands-on with a machine instead of through a computer. I think hands-on learning is more effective because it gives kids a chance to touch and remember the exciting new things they are learning. Next, we will learn how to code a machine that requires perseverance and imaginative thinking.
